I’m a scout in the scout association of Australia. Scouting is really exciting. I enjoy it very much. In particular, I like camping. Every summer we go a long way from town. We usually choose a good place for camping, then put up our tents and stay for a while. A day at the camp begins early at 7 o’clock. In the morning, we do exercises and run round the campsite. Then we usually take turns to work in the kitchen. Scouts prepare all their food themselves. We learn a lot of things. We do different activities such as hiking, playing scout games, swimming and making knots. It is great fun. Camping teaches us a lot of useful things. At the moment I’m learning how to make a fire and how to cook. Meals are very tasty when you cook them on an open fire. My scout group is staying on a beautiful campsite. We are learning to use a compass. This means we will never get lost. We are also learning to make knots.
